Holbox is a paradise and the perfect place to relax. Here are our suggestions so that you can be sure that YOU WILL ENJOY IT TO THE MAXIMUM.
Book flights that arrive before 5 pm and leave after 11 am.
Visit Arena Bar (in the main square). It is the highest point in all of Holbox.
Visit the animal shelter (and don’t forget to donate so they can continue to help animals in need).
Tour the town discovering the murals painted by urban artists.
Rent a golf cart and discover the island for yourself.
NEVER EVER miss a sunset.
Talk to the locals, they always have a good story to tell.
Buy the perfect souvenir at the handicraft shop below Hotel Arena (Main Square).
Respect the delicate flora and fauna of the island.
Don’t litter.
Walk around the square while enjoying a marquesita.

There is only one peso ATM on the island and often it runs out of money. Bring cash, preferably Mexican pesos, as not many places accept credit cards.
The only cellular company that works is Telcel and its international affiliates.
If you come by bus, keep your belongings very close.
After 9:30 pm no one enters or leaves the island. Plan your flights carefully to allow you to get to or from the island.

Insect repellent and (preferably biodegradable) sunscreen.
In order to really enjoy the island, we recommend a minimum stay of 3 days and 2 nights.
It is a little more expensive to reserve our transportation service to the hotel than to rent a car, however it is a much more comfortable and convenient manner of arriving.
If you come by car, you can take the highway in the direction of Mérida. You will find the turn-off to Holbox clearly signposted.
